FAQ

  1. Do online lessons even work? You live on the other side of the country.

Yes. I began teaching online lessons using Skype in 2008. The results have far exceeded my expectations.

  2. I am an absolute beginner. Will you take me as a student?

Absolutely. The lessons are designed specifically for all skill levels.

  3. What do I need to start lessons?

The two requirements are a reliable internet connection and a good quality webcam. Most newer generation computers and tablets have excellent video conferencing capabilities built in. Current students use desktop computers, laptops, tablets such iPads, and even iPhones. You also need an acoustic guitar, tuner, and metronome.

  4. How much do lessons cost and how do I pay for lessons?

Lessons are $60 per hour. You can pay via Paypal, Venmo, Zelle or by check. For more information please review the Pricing & Policies page

  5. What is your cancellation policy?

If the student cancels their lesson the day it was scheduled or is a no-show they are responsible for paying for the lesson.

  6. What if I need to reschedule my lesson?

Lessons may be rescheduled with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Rescheduled lessons must be made up within 48 hours of the original scheduled lesson. Rescheduled lessons may not be rolled over to the next lesson.

  7. Do I have to commit to a certain number of lessons?

No. You can schedule a lesson anytime but I recommend weekly lessons, which is what most students do. Consistency yields the best results.

  8. I live on a different continent and there is an eight hour time difference. Can I still take lessons?

Absolutely. I work with students on five different continents. I will accommodate your schedule.

  9. What if there are technical difficulties and the internet is down?

Though infrequent, there are occasions when the internet may not be working to its full potential. If there are any technical difficulties we will reschedule the lesson and you will not be charged.
